In Loving Memory

Stephen Samuel Adams was born February 22, 2012. He lived with an aggressive form of muscular dystrophy. But, surrounded by the persistent love of his parents and siblings, Stephen far exceeded the expected limitations his illness imposed on him. When he had changed all of our lives, brightened our spirits and completed his purpose among us, he passed peacefully from this life September 30, 2016.

While his stay here on earth with us was admittedly brief, his life still realized it’s purpose and fulfilled its destiny. How so? His cheerful, winning spirit made him a source of joy and inspiration to all of us. And that, combined with his frailty, evoked from us who knew him a tenderness, empathy and care that would forever expand our hearts and our capacities to love. He changed us – made us love more and better – and the changes he made in us will live on forever…

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family has sponsored a memorial fund in Stephen’s honor. The Mercy Needs Foundation helped with some of Stephen’s medical equipment expenses. If you would like to contribute to this fund in Stephen’s honor, your contribution will go toward defraying the costs of medical or accessibility equipment for people with disabilities.

The Mercy Needs Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, recognized by the IRS 1023 exemption. All contributions are tax deductible.
